Wi-Fi upgrade in the Library coming

Wi-Fi service in the Library will be upgraded on three consecutive weekends from 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The dates are:

  • First floor: November 20-21
  • Third floor: November 27-28
  • Second floor: December 4-5

There will be significant noise at times and Wi-Fi connection disruptions on the specified floor. Ear protection is available from the Library Service Point on the first floor. Please plan your day accordingly.

Perfecting your Biosketch: A SciENcv Workshop

Are you preparing to apply for a fellowship or your first R01? Are you maybe procrastinating on your writing your Personal Statement? Have you heard about the changes to the NIH Biosketch format?

Join us at 12:30pm on November 10, 2021 for our hourlong "Perfecting your Biosketch" workshop to learn about the basics of creating a Biosketch (including the Personal Statement), the use of the NCBI tools My Bibliography and SciENcv, and the formatting changes that have recently gone into effect.

Library Skylight Replacement Project: Lighting

The next phase of the Library Skylight Replacement Project will take place beginning Monday, November 1 at 6:00 a.m. New lighting will be installed over the central portion of the first floor. NNLM Establishes the National Center for Data Services (NCDS)

Region 7 of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) hosted at the UMass Chan Medical School is the recipient of an award (3UG4LM012347-06) to serve as the NNLM National Center for Data Services (NCDS) 2021-2026. UMass Chan has entered into a partnership with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine Health Sciences Library (NYUHSL) to lead the NCDS. Alisa Surkis, PhD, MLS will serve as the Director for the NCDS. Dr. Surkis is the Deputy Director and Vice-Chair for Research of the NYUHSL.
