In response to the spread of Monkeypox both nationally and within the Commonwealth, librarians at Lamar Soutter Library have collected sources of reliable information and tools for effective communication regarding this new declared public health emergency.
The Library is pleased to announce the addition of the LGBTQ+ Source database to our offerings available through EBSCO. The LGBTQ+ Source is primarily a social science database which includes ample coverage of resources related to LGBTQ+ issues, including social determinants of health. The database also includes several journals, magazines and monographs focused on public health, sexual health and mental health through the LGBTQ+ lens.
There are some new and exciting classes and workshops being offered by the LSL librarians. These classes will explore different resources for searching and managing literature along with traditional and alternative metrics for measuring scholarship. Register for one or more now!

The University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) Lamar Soutter Library is excited about the launch of the AIDS Community Outreach Project, “Bringing HIV/AIDS Information to the Heart of the Commonwealth”. The project is a collaboration between the Lamar Soutter Library, AIDS Project Worcester (APW), and Worcester Public Library (WPL).

Launch of the new Graphic Medicine Collection at Lamar Soutter
The Lamar Soutter Library is pleased to announce that our new collection of graphic medicine titles (pictured below) is now available! These titles provide an insightful glimpse into a rapidly emerging field that will prove valuable for not only medical students, but also practicing physicians and their patients and families. The collection can be found shelved in its own space near our existing History of Medicine collection.
