This weekend UMass Chan Information Technology will be conducting significant migrations and upgrades to the campus data core. The work is scheduled to begin Saturday, May 21 at 9 p.m. and is expected to last several hours.
During this time, a wide range of online platforms and services will be unavailable, including:
- Internet and Wi-Fi access;
- UMass Chan email from the University Campus;
- Avaya phones on the University Campus;
- any services and/or applications hosted in the Shrewsbury data center from the University Campus; and
- any services and/or applications hosted by any cloud provider.
A number of elevators throughout University Campus buildings and parking garages will not be in operation during this time; the specific elevators not in service will be clearly marked. For those elevators remaining in service, the emergency phones will not work during the planned outage.
Calls to UMass 911 emergency dispatch may also be impacted during the planned outage. Additional security personnel will be in place, and should you need to reach Campus Police or Facilities Saturday night, please use these phone numbers:
