The Journal of Global Radiology (JGR), an open access, peer-reviewed journal focusing on global issues related to access to medical imaging, has published its first issue. JGR fills a unique niche in radiology by cataloging the activities and achievements of individual radiologists and institutional involvement in improving access to medical imaging in the developing world. The journal is published by the Department of Radiology at UMass Medical School (UMMS) in collaboration with the medical school’s Lamar Soutter Library through its eScholarship@UMMS publishing and repository system. The publication of the Journal of Global Radiology aligns with the Library’s mission to help UMMS faculty and students create and disseminate scholarly content directly to users, making it openly accessible to the world.
