UMass Chan's Gold Humanism Honor Society is coordinating a variety of events for Solidarity Week for Compassionate Patient Care. Why Solidarity Week? The National Gold Humanism Honor Society office established National Solidarity Day for Compassionate Care in 2011 to highlight the nation-wide movement promoting clinician-patient relationships based on caring, personalization, and mutual respect.

Schedule of Solidarity Week Events:

February 3rd - 14th:

  • Cards for Compassion:  Card-making station located on the 1st floor of the Library, with snacks & coffee available 4-5pm on February 3rd, 5th, & 7th.
  • Tell Me More Campaign:  Engage in conversation with your patients to learn more about them as people. Prompts will be available on every hospital floor.

February 10th - 14th:

  • Connecting With Patients & Families:  Interactive display in the hospital lobby
  • What Does Humanism Look Like:  Book Display & Discussion prompt in the Library

Please join us in celebrating patients and clinicians and the special bond of trust and compassion that yields the best care. Show support for the importance of compassionate patient care and kindness towards patients by participating in these upcoming activities!
