NIH released NOT-OD-17-050 on March 24, 2017, regarding citing preprints and other interim research products in applications and progress reports. While the inclusion of preprints and interim research products is not required, NIH encourages investigators to make them publicly available in repositories to speed the dissemination and enhance the rigor of their work.

The Gerald F. Berlin Prize is awarded for creative writing, prose or poetry, written by UMass medical students, nursing students, graduate students, residents, and fellows based at UMass Medical School, Berkshire Medical Center or Worcester Medical Center/St. Vincent's. On Wednesday, November 16, Faculty Council and the Lamar Soutter Library hosted an Open Access Policy Forum for the campus. We were joined by panelists Peter Suber, Director of the Harvard Office for Scholarly Communication, and Scott Lapinski, Digital Resources and Services Librarian at the Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS).
“The goal of my art is to capture our beautiful world as much as possible through vibrant color and contrasting shadow.” On exhibit are portraits, still life, water scenes, street and building images, and animal drawings.
New collection of early 19th century medical writings (the papers of the Union Medical Association and of Dr. Samuel B. Woodward) are now being hosted on the LSL Office of Medical History and Archives pages.
