The 14th Annual Gerald F. Berlin Prize for Creative Writing Call for Submissions

The Gerald F. Berlin Prize is awarded for creative writing, prose or poetry, authored by UMass medical students, nursing students, graduate students, residents, and fellows based at UMass Medical School, Berkshire Medical Center, Worcester Medical Center/St. Vincent's or Baystate Medical Center.

Library Annual Report for FY 2017

The Lamar Soutter Library (LSL) at University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) is pleased to announce the publication of the 2017 Annual Report in a new “page-turner” digital format. When you access the site, you also have the option to download a PDF of the Annual Report.

The report highlights the many services LSL staff provided to users from July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017. LSL staff focuses on responding to the needs of the UMMS community and contribute our skills and expertise as appropriate and requested.

The University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) Lamar Soutter Library is excited about the launch of the AIDS Community Outreach Project, “Bringing HIV/AIDS Information to the Heart of the Commonwealth”. The project is a collaboration between the Lamar Soutter Library, AIDS Project Worcester (APW), and Worcester Public Library (WPL).

Ever wanted to learn about how people with a variety of disabilities navigate the world? This year marks Miriam’s fourth year recognizing National Disability Awareness Month with an exhibit on technologies that help enhance and change the lives of persons with disabilities.The exhibit includes educational posters, tactile maps and money markers, and computer software products including sign language training videos and a web browser for children with autism.
