Beginning tomorrow, December 12, 2019 through January 3, 2020, there will be electrical work happening on the 1st and 2nd floors of the library. This work includes: cordoning off of work areas, drilling, plastering, dust, etc. This work is necessary in order to bring additional electrical power to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library and the foundation for new and updated study spaces, updated lighting and power, along with new paint and carpet in the library.

The work is expected to be from:

• Weekdays: Early morning — Finish by 10:00 a.m.
• Weekends: Any hours
• Holidays 12/22/2019-1/1/2020: Any hours

The library is working with UMMS Facilities and the contractors to minimize the noise level and disruption to library services as much as possible. The library has noise canceling headphones and ear plugs for your use, please inquire at the service desk for these.

To help students escape the electrical work/drilling noise, the following rooms have been set aside on these dates:

• December 21, 2019: 5:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Amps 2 & 3 and Lazare and Hiatt
• December 23-24 & 26-27, 2019: 5:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Amps 2 & 3
