You're invited to the launch of the UMass Chan R Café on Thursday, June 23 at 2pm on Zoom!
During these gatherings, there will be presentations on specific R libraries, tools, and concepts and time to work on your own projects and ask questions of the group. No prior experience with R required and all UMass Chan students, postdocs, faculty, and staff are welcome. To attend, please fill out this interest form.
For the first gathering, Tess Grynoch, Research Data & Scholarly Communications Librarian at the Lamar Soutter Library, will be giving a short demonstration on how to create slides in R followed by a discussion about the structure, future topics, and frequency of R Café gatherings. To follow along with the demonstration, you will need to download R and RStudio prior to the gathering. We recommend following Library Carpentry’s instructions for downloading R and RStudio and if you are using an UMass Chan computer, you will need to contact IT for administrative permissions to download RStudio. However, downloading R and RStudio prior to the gathering is entirely optional.
If you have any questions, please contact the R Café co-hosts, Ben Gerber (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Tess Grynoch (email@example.com).
