The Lamar Soutter Library’s Artist in Residence Series invites you to view “Critters of Southern Africa" by Allan Jacobson & Denise Brouillette-Jacobson, exhibiting June 19 – August 30, 2018.

Allan Jacobson and Denise Brouillette-Jacobson have been part of the University of Massachusetts Medical School family for more than four decades. Allan was one of the founding members of the Medical School faculty and is presently the Gerald L. and Zelda S. Haidak Professor of Cell Biology and Chair of the Department of Microbiology and Physiological Systems. He and Denise always enjoyed taking photographs of wildlife during their travels but entered a new dimension of photography opportunities when they visited Africa in October 2016. Twice daily photo “safaris” in South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana led to numerous extraordinarily close encounters with lions, leopards, giraffes, rhinos, elephants, zebras, hippos, and more, and led to the photographs in this collection.
