“The goal of my art is to capture our beautiful world as much as possible through vibrant color and contrasting shadow.” On exhibit are portraits, still life, water scenes, street and building images, and animal drawings. Rose uses several mediums to highlight different components of each piece; using watercolor to highlight values, stating that while capturing the beauty in ocean, bay, and pond she describes the water as displaying “fluidity and contained chaos and an amazing variety of colors and values.” Oils are used to bring out contrasting colors while soft pastels are used to emphasize the effects of light on skin tone. For pieces created in black and white, the use of ink, charcoal, and pencil are used to highlight those contrasting values.
Qiaofeng (Rose) Wang currently works as a PCA for UMass Memorial Medical Center. As an artist, she accomplishes custom art orders of portraits, places, pets, and images on ceramic. The exhibit runs from November 1 - February 24, 2017.
