Lamar Soutter's Early Life
March 9, 1909: Lamar Soutter was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
1922-1927: Lamar attended St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire as a young man.
1927-1931: He was a student at Harvard College, graduating with honors in June 1931 with an AB degree. The title of his senior thesis was "The State of Brittany on the Eve of the French Revolution."
Summer 1931: He was a crew member on the maiden voyage of the Atlantis, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's first research vessel.
