The Library is pleased to announce the addition of the LGBTQ+ Source database to our offerings available through EBSCO. The LGBTQ+ Source is primarily a social science database which includes ample coverage of resources related to LGBTQ+ issues, including social determinants of health. The database also includes several journals, magazines and monographs focused on public health, sexual health and mental health through the LGBTQ+ lens.

Welcome Bennie Finch!

The Network of the National Library of Medicine welcomes Bennie Finch to our staff as an Education and Outreach Coordinator. Bennie completed a MLIS at Southern Connecticut State University in May and also holds a MSW. She joins librarianship after working as a social worker with children, families, and early childhood education for a number of years.

The Network of the National Library of Medicine is thrilled to welcome Sean Corning to our team as an Education and Outreach Coordinator. This position combines Sean’s instructional, academic research, and medicinal chemistry interests with librarianship.

Sean recently completed his MS in Library and Information Sciences in May and has a MA in Chemistry. Sean is active in the American Library Association.

Skylight Replacement Project (June-August 2021)

Starting July 2021, the three skylights situated above the main seating section of the Library (curved couch, large tables, and outside the computer classroom) will be replaced. Scaffolding and safety barriers will be installed in July, and work is expected to continue into mid-August. All three skylights will be removed and reinstalled with a new energy efficient skylight system.
