Reminder: your login method to EZproxy will be changing on January 4, 2021. Users with a umassmed.edu email address will no longer be required to use their Library-issued barcode number to log in. Instead they will use their umassmed.edu email credentials to authenticate. EZproxy users without a umassmed.edu email address will continue to use their barcode number and password to log in.

Due to the expected snowstorm, the Library Service Desk will be closed on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

The Library will observe the following schedule beginning December 21, 2020 until early January, 2021:

• December 21-23, 2020 – closing early (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
• December 24, 2020-January 3, 2021 – closed
• January 4, 2021 and following – regular schedule resumes (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Due to popular demand, the Library will be switching the EZproxy sign-on method. Users with a umassmed.edu email address will no longer be required to use their Library-issued barcode number to log in. Instead they will use their umassmed.edu email credentials to authenticate. EZproxy users without a umassmed.edu email address will continue to use their barcode number and password to log in.

This change to single sign-on will take place on January 4, 2021 at approximately 8:30 a.m. More details will follow in a later message.

Library hours for the Thanksgiving holiday are as follows:

• Wednesday, November 25: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Thursday, November 26: Closed
• Friday, November 27: Closed

Regular hours will resume on Monday, November 30.

As of November 1, 2020, the Lamar Soutter Library has discontinued the live “Ask a Librarian” chat feature. But never fear! Your librarians are still available to answer your questions! Our Ask A Librarian email submission form is still available 24/7 (questions are answered Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Librarians can also be emailed directly – find your librarian in our Staff Directory.

The Library will be closed on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

• Monday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Closed

The library is accessible 24/7 for eligible students, faculty, and residents using their ID badge.

Please observe the following usage guidelines for the second and third floors of the Library:

• The second floor of the Library can be used for studying and for Zoom calls.
• The third floor of the Library is strictly for quiet study. Please, no Zoom, phone use, or socializing on the third floor.
