As of 6:00 p.m. on March 13, 2020, the Lamar Soutter Library’s Service Desk is temporarily closing as part of the University’s request that non-essential staff work remotely until April 6, 2020. Our guiding principle is to support our students, faculty, staff, researchers, and clinicians, while protecting the health of our community. We will continue to be flexible and in constant review of how our information services are provided. Library space and resources can be accessed 24/7 with a valid UMMS/UMMHC id and a proxy account.

Although our librarians will not be able to assist you in person, you can reach them directly through email, phone (see our Staff Directory) or through the Ask a Librarian service. Library staff may suggest setting up a Zoom meeting with you to better understand your information needs.

If you have any questions or concerns about this temporary change, please feel free to reach out to me directly via email: Mary.Piorun@umassmed.edu.

Our librarians have compiled a collection of vetted and scholarly information concerning COVID-19 and emergency preparedness at our COVID-19 and Emergency Preparedness Guide.
