Starting October 1, 2025 all NCBI records will begin using the earliest publication date (either electronic or print) as the Official Date of Publication for determining compliance with the 2024 Public Access Policy, which requires submission of author accepted manuscripts to PubMed Central at the time of publication. This is a change from previous policy which automatically used the latest date of publication. Authors should monitor records in their My Bibliography to ensure their publications remain compliant with the latest Public Access requirements.
