R workshops continue in May with this month's workshop focusing on data visualization with ggplot2. Register for the online workshop on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 12-1pm.

During this hands-on workshop, participants will learn tips and tricks for creating effective charts in R and create basic charts in R using the ggplot2 package. The workshop will cover best practices for chart layout, color choices, labeling, and visualizing data responsibly. All experience levels with R are welcome. You will need to download R and RStudio before the workshop, please follow Library Carpentry’s instructions, https://librarycarpentry.org/lc-r/. If you are using a UMass Chan computer, you will need to contact IT for administrative permissions to download RStudio. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the instructor, Tess Grynoch, tess.grynoch@umassmed.edu, for assistance with the download. She will also be available 30 minutes prior to the workshop to troubleshoot the downloads.
