Self-service black & white printing and photocopying is a free service in the library. We realize, however, that color images in scientific literature are the norm now and that in some cases the color is essential for understanding the data presented. For this reason, we want to be able to provide color printing for students in a limited capacity.
Students may now use the “Ask a Librarian” form from the library’s homepage to request color printing for journal articles. You will be asked to provide a DOI or url address to the article you wish to be printed. Requests will be filled by our Access Services staff during staffed hours and within a reasonable, 24-hour, turnaround time. Requests for printing received during non-staffed hours will be addressed when hours resume, in the order in which they were made.
Before you make a color printing request, please remember that printing is expensive in both paper, toner, and maintenance. We want to make this service available freely for students, so be mindful of this and request only articles that you really need in print form.
Note: At this point we are reserving the service to color printing of articles only. Projects, flyers, promotional materials and other such items cannot be printed in color in the library.
