On exhibit May 10 through June 28, 2019

The Library invites you to visit the Bright Horizons children’s art exhibit. This enchanting little people’s art exhibit emulates famous artists such as Jackson Pollock and Vincent van Gogh. Through the eyes of each child, each discovers and creates images and sculpture both whimsical and beautiful.

Image removed.Inquisitively we learn that the childhood art experience fosters not only creativity but develops other areas including literacy, math, and decision making. The children experiment with cause and effect and come to understand what they are capable of.

Bright Horizons is a UMass Memorial Child Care Program “providing innovative programs that nurture children’s qualities and potentials” which “accompanies each child as he or she embarks on a path of growth and exploration.”  (from The Journey to Lifelong Learning Begins at…Bright Horizons, Family Solutions brochure.)

This exhibit is brought to us by Lori Carroll, Center Director, Bright Horizons at UMass University Campus; initiated by Jessica Kilham, MLIS AHIP, Manager, Library Education and Clinical Services, Lamar Soutter Library.
