Self-Service Team (2010)

The Self-Service Team is to identify LSL services which could be transformed from mediated services to unmediated services in order to free staff resources for other projects/tasks. The team will address both process and security issues associated with each identified service. Topics to address include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • security of collections, equipment, and staff work areas
  • staffing
  • accessing collections:
    • reserve collection
      • location
      • electronic reserves
      • faculty copies
      • equipment
    • book and journal collection
    • RBR
    • self-checkout
The team is to compile its findings in a report to the Management Team, which will include recommendations as to which services could be transformed and what resources would be necessary for the change.
