Brief Biography

Lisa Palmer, MSLS, AHIP, is Acting Institutional Repository Librarian at the Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. In this position she oversees the daily operation of eScholarship@UMMS, a digital repository offering worldwide access to scholarly output of UMass Medical School. Prior to joining UMass in 2003, Lisa was a corporate librarian for Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq Computer Corporation, and Hewlett-Packard. She earned her graduate degree in library science from Simmons College in Boston, Mass. Lisa is a member of various professional organizations: the American Library Association and its Association for Library Collections & Technical Services Division; the Medical Library Association (she serves on the Membership Committee for the Technical Services Section); the Association of College and Research Libraries New England Chapter; the North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries; and the New England Library Association (she serves as Treasurer for the New England Technical Services Librarians).
