Jane Fama, MLS, joined the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2002 as the Associate Director for Access Services at the Lamar Soutter Library. Jane is a member of the library's Management Team. She earned her MLS degree from Simmons College in 1993. Jane did her undergraduate work right here in Worcester, at Clark University where she earned a BA in Government. Her first career was in education, in which she taught in an elementary school for 11 years. She also worked as a computer programmer in the Boston area. Jane started her library career at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where she managed the circulation department, and has also worked at Harvard Business School's Baker Library as the Web Coordinator. Jane is a member of the Medical Library Association (MLA).Partnerships and Affiliations
- Currently serving as a liaison to the Student Body Council (SBC) of the Medical School.
- Electronic Fund Transfer System (EFTS) Advisory Committee Member (Two Year Appointment: June 1, 2005 - May 31, 2007)
- North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries (NAHSL) 2003 – Member of Hospitality Committee for NAHSL 2003 annual conference.
