The Artist in Residence Series presents No Evil Project & The Photography of Troy B. Thompson, September 1 – October 31, 2016

Troy Thompson’s exhibit exemplifies two distinct themes. A most unique exhibit is his No Evil Project where over 5,000 people have been photographed by Troy posing as the three wise monkeys. In this project, the photography communicates a message and conveys a story to the viewer: “to challenge stereotypes and encourage conversation around the topics of race, religion, politics, sexuality, disabilities and more.” These poses are captured on banners hanging tall. The project currently has four permanent installations: photo shoots at festivals, colleges, schools, and other organizations, and facilitates youth programming around labels, self-awareness, and anti-bullying. “With my No Evil Project, bringing people together to change stereotypes in a fun way is a reflection of my personality and having a multi-racial family.”

Aside from Troy’s major exhibit theme, also on exhibit are nature landscapes which he describes as peaceful places in New England. “I was raised hiking and exploring nature and I hope my photography encourages others to explore.”
