The Artist in Residence Series Presents “Discovering Architecture: A Visual Exploration of Our Built Environment” by Ryan Hacker, Exhibiting March 31 - July 28, 2017.

Ryan B. Hacker is an architectural designer who has worked with the Facilities Engineering & Construction team at UMass Medical School since 2012. A BFA graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Ryan has extensive background in technical settings: Over the last four and a half years, he has built numerous clean room, laboratory, and mechanical spaces, as well as office-zoned occupancies. Discovering ArchitectureHe was designer/coordinator for the lab fit-ups at the Albert Sherman Center in 2012 and 2013. Currently, Ryan is working on the Commonwealth’s new 22,000 SF Newborn Screening Program laboratory and headquarters, serving as principal draftsmen for that job, and assistant project manager for its construction.

In his free time, the 27 year old Massachusetts native enjoys road tripping around New England, taking photos of his travels, good eats, and community service. He is Treasurer and Director of Support Our Fine Arts, Inc., (SOFA) a 501c3 non-profit that supports and promotes public arts education in Worcester, MA, and also serves as a municipal Election Warden and Massachusetts Notary Public.
