Take a break from the summer heat and meet other R users at UMass Chan at these two upcoming R Café Gatherings!
During these gatherings, there will be presentations on specific R libraries, tools, and concepts and time to work on your own projects and ask questions of the group. No prior experience with R required.
The next R Café gathering will take place on July 21 at 3-4pm on Zoom. Registration is now open. The agenda is:
- Discussion of resources to learn R. Bring your resource suggestions!
- Troubleshooting. Bring your questions!
- Getting started with R lesson with Dr. Ben Gerber
You can also save the date and register for the August gathering on August 18 at 3-4pm on Zoom. The tentative presentation/lesson for that gathering is data wrangling with tidyverse.
To follow along with the demonstration, you will need to download R and RStudio prior to the gathering. We recommend following Library Carpentry’s instructions for downloading R and RStudio. If you are using an UMass Chan computer, you will need to contact IT for administrative permissions to download RStudio. However, downloading R and RStudio prior to the gathering is entirely optional.
If you have any questions, please contact the R Café co-hosts, Ben Gerber (ben.gerber@umassmed.edu) and Tess Grynoch (tess.grynoch@umassmed.edu).
