Celebrating the Life and Work of Michael Green, MD, PhD

In honor of today’s symposium celebrating the life, achievements and scientific contributions of Michael R. Green, MD, PhD, the Lamar Soutter Library is highlighting Dr. Green’s most cited publication, “Efficient in vitro synthesis of biologically active RNA and RNA hybridization probes from plasmids containing a bacteriophage SP6 promoter.” This paper, published in the journal Nucleic Acids Research when Dr. Green was at Harvard University, has been cited more than 6,400 times since its publication in 1984. It describes a “simple and efficient method for synthesizing pure single stranded RNAs of virtually any structure.” We join our colleagues in honoring the legacy of Dr. Green.
