The Massachusetts Health Sciences Library Network (MAHSLIN) is pleased to announce that the Massachusetts Medical Society has been chosen as one of the first recipients of its professional achievement award and induction into the MAHSLIN "Hall of Fame".

For more than twenty years MAHSLIN, an association of professionals, has been dedicated to providing and facilitating access to health information resources and services. MAHSLIN has established its "Hall of Fame" to recognize the performance and leadership of members and supporters of the health sciences library community. This first induction coincides with the centennial year and celebrations of the Medical Library Association.

The Massachusetts Medical Society has been recognized for its long-standing commitment to current, full-service medical libraries. Through its institutional CME accreditation program, the Society supports the development of quality continuing medical education programming within health care institutions by promoting the necessity for on-site information and library services. In addition, the Society has provided significant grant funds to medical libraries that have led to the provision of the emerging electronic knowledge-based technologies, including computer equipment. These applications have greatly assisted health care providers to obtain timely, accurate and comprehensive clinical information for patient care, research and education.

MAHSLIN initiates were inducted into its "Hall of Fame" on Wednesday, April 29, 1998 during the MAHSLIN Annual Meeting. Other recipients of the award include:
