The library has five Amazon Kindles available for 2 week loan. Each is loaded with 49 titles from four categories – Medical Thrillers, History of Medicine, Humanities in Medicine, and Leadership.

All current UMMS and UMMHC faculty, staff and students who are registered with the library may borrow a Kindle. Kindles may not be reserved; they are available to patrons on a "first-come, first-served" basis. The borrowing period is two weeks; there are no renewals. If all Kindles are checked out, library staff can place a hold and patrons will be notified when a Kindle returns. A patron may check out only one Kindle at a time. As a courtesy to other patrons, please wait 24 hours after returning the Kindle before requesting another.

The library has ten Bamboo Tablets available for 1 week loan.

Late Return Policy

• First offense: warning
• Second offense: loss of Kindle/Bamboo Tablet borrowing privileges
