Most of our trips are from 5 to 12 days in length. The average is 8 days.

Volunteers pay: travel fees (airline, bus, etc), lodging, food, beverages (non-alcoholic). LIG negotiates heavily on these items to bring down the costs as much as possible. We also work with the communities we serve, and they often provide us with food and beverages for at least part of our trips.

Our volunteers form close ties and frequently volunteer on subsequent trips with us.

Safety of our volunteers and the patients whom we treat is our priority on every trip. We visit the communities we serve prior to each trip to arrange for safe travel, housing, food and beverages.

Any volunteers under the age of 21 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
