One Person Library Survey Results
(Dina McKelvy - SMMC Library August 2000)

1. Hours/week: 16*. Beds: 64 (+ 9 intermediate care). 520 hospital staff. 50 medical staff.
*hours total 40, 24 for volunteer services.

2. Hours/week: 32*. Beds: 50 ~300 hospital staff 50 medical staff
*also serves as Medical Education Coordinator.

3. Hours/week: 30 (+10-20 at home) Beds: 130 no total hospital staff 121 medical staff (includes 35 courtesy staff)

4. Hours/week: 28* (+ library assistant @ 8 hrs/wk) Beds: 70 no total hospital staff 60+ medical staff
* noted that several months ago the hospital brought in a consultant who determined that the library should be staffed by a 40 hr/wk librarian.

5. Hours/week: 40* no total beds 1200 hospital staff ~150 medical staff
*2 full-time, 40 hour librarians serving 3 libraries

6. Hours/week: 20* Beds: 64 ~500 hospital staff 40-45 medical staff
*hours total 40, 20 for Resource and Outcome Dept. Estimates that 30-35 hours are spent on library.

7. Hours/week: 40 Beds: 109 acute care, 62 long term care ~600 hospital staff  85 medical staff

8. (mine) Hours/week: 30* Beds: 150 ~1000 hospital staff 140 medical staff
* + about 5 hours/week volunteer help
