University of Massachusetts Medical School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute Awarded IMLS National Leadership Planning Grant for Data Management Curriculum and Requirements for a Collaborative Data Repository
The Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the George C. Gordon Library at Worcester Polytechnic Institute have been awarded an Institute of Museum and Library Service National Leadership Planning grant. With this grant, the two libraries will collaboratively develop an instructional framework and delivery system for openly accessible, online instructional modules on preserving, managing, and sharing digital data.

University of Massachusetts and New England Area Librarian E-Science Symposium—April 6, 2009
In an attempt to continue to enhance collaborative New England region libraries' support of e-science initiatives for their research institutions, the Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is hosting a regional symposium on Monday, April 6, 2009. With co-sponsorship from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine–New England Region and the Boston Library Consortium, this day-long symposium serves as an educational and collaborative opportunity for science librarians to discuss e-science resources, in addition to future roles that libraries and librarians might take on to support their institutions.
